Laser profile measurement system on the extrusion pilot line was successfully tested and integrated on specially prepared construction together with vision system (look the pictures below).
The idea of laser profile measurements was to test it at the end of the extrusion line for monitoring of the deviations that occur during extrusion process, i.e., transfer of extruded plastic profiles. After the successful tests, it was observed that the extruded plastic profile deviations were constantly inside the desired tolerance field and that the process was stable enough. Therefore, considering these results, it was decided to skip the usage of laser profile device from the refurbished/modernized/upgraded extrusion line since there is no real added value/benefit and the majority of visual issues on plastic profiles can be detected/solved with the implemented vision system, which is already implemented.
